File Submission

SEC can accept files on optical media such as CD or DVD or via FTP and email (email files are limited to 5MB). Also when using either email or FTP, use a compression utility such as Stuffit or Winzip to compress your files into a single archive. This will dramatically reduce the upload time required to send files to our server.

........................................................................................................
Supported File Formats
We support the following file formats for job submission:

TIFF
EPS
PS
PDF
DCS
DCS2
Scitex CT/LW

SEC also supports a range of native application files, including:

Adobe InDesign CS3 and earlier
Adobe Illustrator CS3 and earlier
Adobe Photoshop CS3 and earlier
Adobe Acrobat 8.0 and earlier
Adobe/Macromedia Freehand MX and earlier
Quark Xpress 7.x and earlier
Microsoft Publisher 2003

If your file is created in an unsupported program, we can accept either a postscript (.ps or .eps) or PDF file created from the native application. In the event that your native application is not listed, please contact us for more information.

Note: The use of PowerPoint, Word or other "Office" applications is not recommended as these applications were not designed for high resolution print reproduction and can produce poor and/or unpredictable results.

........................................................................................................
Fonts and Graphics

All fonts (printer and screen) used within your document and all linked files including graphics, illustrations, and photographs used within your document must be supplied with your job. TrueType and Type 1 fonts are both acceptable. The use of OpenType fonts is not recommended.

........................................................................................................
Image Formats and Resolutions

Provide photographs and halftones in EPS, TIFF, CT, or PSD formats and in either CMYK or grayscale color spaces. Images supplied in the RGB color space are subject to CMYK conversion therefore color shifts may occur. PICT files or Word Metafiles are not acceptable for high-resolution printing.
In general, non-vector images such as photographs should have a minimum resolution of 300 dots per inch (DPI) at 100% in order to render correctly.

........................................................................................................
Proofs of your File

Supply a laser prints or a low-resolution (72 DPI) PDF that represent your file at 100% of actual size as reference to how the final product should appear when proofed.

If you have any questions about these specifications, contact us to talk to a SEC pre-press expert.
